As promised...
Yes, it's been over 2 months since the last post. I guess I just sort of blogged myself out with that last one. But I'm back, and as perfectly abnormal as ever.
As promised to a very good friend (you know who you are!), I am updating the blog with a new, less depressing post. The following was sent to my mom, entertainer extraordinaire, in an email last week.
hello darlink mom. thanks for the xmas present hints. i do not like duplicating presents, i don't.
i am working lalala much fun. my neck hurts, not much fun. i am no longer going to the damn chiropractor because i never feel any better and i'm not going to continue paying her just to tell me my head is on wrong.
for thanksgiving this year, the our residence will be serving:
1. Turkey breast with orange/honey herb glaze stuffed with oranges (combination of 3 different recipes I'm so daring it better be good)
2. Small spiral ham (this little piggie went into the oven)
3. Smashed 'taters (I'm not so good at these for some reason, must hope for the best)
4. Peas and onions (items 2, 3 and 4 specifically for brother who will be attending)
5. Smashed sweet taters (need something orange, don't want carrots)
6. Green bean casserole (note to self: call mom for recipe)
7. Biscuits-from-a-can (thank you Pillsbury)
8. Perhaps a Romaine salad with dried cranberries, Granny Smith apples, pecans and feta cheese with Balsamic Vinaigrette (I love this salad, especially in the autumn, but haven't decided yet--we really don't need it...)
Of course, it wouldn't be Thanksgiving (as above-mentioned brother has already pointed out) without a relish tray containing black olives, pickles and stuffed celery. We will probably be having Thanksgiving dinner at dinner time, and just like dips (hot artichoke? hummus? mmmm) and cheese and crackers for "lunch".
hubby has wednesday before thanksgiving off, so i probably will take that day off too to prepare my wee self. i must make a list. lists lists lists i couldn't live without them.

3. Go shopping for items on list
4. Drink a fortifying martini
5. Peel potatoes
6. Peel sweet potatoes
7. Wash lettuce
